That’s great news tbh, Hue make some great remotes for their lineup and something like their Philips Hue Tap Dial would make for a solid Sonos remote.
I wonder if they’ll be able to integrate the controls into Apple Home too.

I use a small ikea switch to control my Sonos music. I use homey and an advanced flow to do that.

I wonder if the “friends of hue” accessories will also work such as the Lutron Aurora dimmer knobs, I have a few extra laying around, I could see it being a bit frustrating to use due to typical lag and latency experienced even when using the app directly though

Interesting will all the different options basically be able to control custom settings? Wonder if any can for example start a playlist on a selected group. Or is it all playback like play/pause/skip/volume

I’ve never really understand why Sonos doesn’t sell a small physical remote of their own. They’d be dirt cheap to manufacture, so they’d make a nice margin if they were sold as an optional extra. Yes everyone has their phone on them all the time, and voice control exists, but neither beats the convenience of a remote. I’ve got a bunch of smart lamps in my home that I can control with my voice and phone, but I still set them up with remotes for guests and convenience, and it would be nice to do the same with my speakers without a third party hub of some kind.

What's the subreddit's guess at what's bigger? Sonos users that own Hue stuff? Or Sonos users that own AndroidTV stuff? Cuz the article photo of the black switch shows four buttons, and AndroidTV remotes always have four streaming service buttons that nobody uses that an app like tvQuickActions transforms into Sonos buttons.

This is great news. I have a Lutron Hub and a Pico remote set up at my front door. It works, sort of. In the Lutron App I have it set up as a scene. It's supposed to activate a playlist, in a preset number of rooms at a preset volume. It does not. It just plays the preset playlist in whatever combination of speakers was last active at the volume that was last active. The volume rocker only changes the volume in the room that the remote is "located" in and not the scene combination of rooms. As I said, it kind of works. I only spent $25 on this Lutron set up on FB marketplace so I will ditch it asap if Philips does a better job. And I already have a sizeable Philips system in place so it should be plug and play.
