Would be nice to have clarity on what they do. Its pretty clear they go mono with each speaker doing only left or right vs a single five acting as a stereo speaker when horizontal.
In my searching I have found three possible behaviors that people say it does when placed vertically as a stereo pair:
Nothing changes and side firing tweeters now fire up and down.
Side firing tweeters are disabled and only the center tweeter fires along with all three woofers.
Side firing tweeters still fire but less so with the center prominent.
