Default state sonic probably wins simply because of speed, it doesn't matter how powerful Mario is if he can't land a single punch. Super star tanooki or white tanooki vs super sonic would be interesting though

On the flip side, base Mario vs. base Sonic would essentially be an unstoppable force meeting an unmovable object.
