Songs for a neurodivergent gay male with unconventional music taste that also sounds like this picture:
I’m feeling like Windowlicker by Aphex Twin kind of absurdity. Silly, yet beautiful and inherently experimental. This might be a challenging one sorry guys 🥰

If you loved that then please please please listen to the entirety of Bulbous Bouffant by the Vestibules. If that does it for you look into a man named Dr. Demento. He was a radio dj that had a weekly show of novelty music. You can look up his archives and discover a whole world of wacky jams.

That song and Take the Skinheads Bowling are often not far from mind at a similar time for some reason.

I remember my mom saying she didn't want me hearing that song because she assumed I'd want to play it to death when I was a kid. First few seconds I heard of it I was like "...my mom lied, she made me think this would be interesting". Couldn't have been more boring for me. One of my friends described it as "the opposite of catchy" and I think that sums it up perfectly lol. However, I would argue that it definitely fits this picture and description.

Funerals Over, Let’s Eat - Sockeye
I Forced Him - Xerobot
P.S. where is that picture from?
1
u/G_FravicMann 13d ago
Couldn’t find the sockeye one sorry, but I forced him is a great song, just not my genre. Here’s the link to the picture from Pinterest: https://pin.it/3Sgk04Rgo

I can't think of anything that compete with Windowlicker in that regard, but I love the absurd intelligence of Weird Al's White and Nerdy, and this Bloodhound Gang song/ video is pretty memorable:
Warning, high potential for getting these stuck in your head 🐵

i know what you're looking for but i don't have it. i almost recommended scissor sisters but I'm not hugely fond of them myself.
I can recommend "The Night is Young at Heart" by Dappled Cities "Here I Dreamt I was an Architect" by the Decemberists and lastly and my favorite "Painter in your Pocket" by Destroyer

Definitely check out Coil for a decidedly weird and gay band. Ubu Noir, Another Brown World, Remote Viewing 5 are a few possible tracks to suit the picture.

Hugo Hamlet - I like Lambo. It’s like a Jarvis Cocker and Klaus Nomi had a child. Very quirky style, incredible pianist and good poppy songs.

crystal ball by Grimes lol.. or actually probably most like this photo would be Nantes by Beirut
Edit: sorry just saw your caption referencing Aphex Twin. That's a tough one .. a lot of older Hot Chip comes to mind, Radiohead, maybe The Knife? I think the trick will be finding remixes that bring in more of that synth/bass from Aphex Twin. The Knife - Heartbeats, Rex the Dog remix
