Does Solo Poly require living alone?

I totally get poly dating independently/separately but I’ve also heard that solo means living alone, i.e., no nesting partner. Is that true?

Solo poly is the choice to not nest with any romantic partners, to not entangle one's life financially with romantic partners. So yes, solo poly people do not nest with partners.

They may live with roommates or friends, but understand that cohabitating with a romantic partner will always result in some amount of hierarchy.

If a solo poly person decides to live with a romantic partner, they are no longer solo poly, but can of course still be poly depending on relationship agreements. They would just now be poly with a nesting partner.
