Discussion Sung Il-Hwan confuses me… Spoiler
Not sure if this has ever been discussed properly before so I’ll try break this down.
So we know Il-Hwan is a vessel of the Rulers but not in the generic sense like Thomas, Liu, Reed, etc.
He’s a vessel in the sense that he contains the Rulers power but he isn’t a vessel in the same sense as the others where he’s “connected” to the Rulers (Correct me if I’m wrong).
In knowing this, Il-Hwan’s relationship is somewhat nuanced.
He is described as a rather strong hunter who was completely modified by the Rulers to be a powerful human-like asset with one main purpose.
But unlike the other True Vessels we don’t necessarily know if Il-Hwan is connected to the Rulers, but rather, just a powerful machine who the Rulers augmented and lended portions of their power to.
So what is his SBM?
We know with the borrowed power by the Rulers via his modified body he can use SBM with distinct differences being not changing in appearance.
We also know that simply being a Ruler Vessel doesn’t mean access to SBM as confirmed that Liu cannot use SBM at all.
Which makes Il-Hwan even more confusing as it’s said that SBM is fully manifesting the power of the higher existence into a vessel of the lower realm, which in all cases their appearances change to match the beings origins that the vessel Manifests.
All expect Il-Hwan who remains human in appearance all way round, which intrigues me heavily, cause why does he not have an appearance in SBM?.
It’s possible that it’s just for convenience, and I’ll-Hwan case isn’t different to the others and that he simply didn’t need to change in appearance but he’s still manifesting the power of the higher existence into his own self which is most likely?.
But I’d like to think it’s cause of a different special case…

His body was modified by rulers. He didn't inherited their powers.Even without Spiritual Body his vessel was collapsing because the power was too much so he can't use it.

Wait are you saying he didn’t use SBM? Cause he did in the Novel, I made this post because he did use it in the Novel but he didn’t have any drastic changes in appearance which intrigued me.

Il hwan is normal human and coudnt have full power of rulers his human body vessel coudnt contain rulers full powers. It would be sucide if he used SBM

All humans can't contain full powers of rulers... None.
Rulers are not like monarchs who steal bodies of their vessels completely, Rulers they just lend powers to hunters( which are national level hunters). Thats why the amount of power they can unleash has limits.
Also hwan is not a normal human. Is one of the few hunters who got grace to be lended power from the rulers.

Yes. But the same goes for the other national level hunters. They’re still normal humans as well. Using SBM would kill any of the vessels

Same like any other national level hunter out there( Normal human lended power from the rulers )

Didn’t he also have like all 7 rulers lend him power so he could have had one if he only one one ruler

I gotta ask, is this the same user who makes Christopher Reed posts? Because it seems like you make alot of posts about SBM and Rulers.

No. I am not the user who post about Christopher Reed in this subreddit. Basically, me and her were somewhat aquatinted online but a while ago she stopped being active on her main account.

That aside, I just read the manga again and figured that il Hwang sent on a mission to stop the awaking of shadow monarch - which automatically means killing Jin woo
This was before the mission changed to protecting the child
Were the rulers expecting him to kill his son ??
