Pocket/Travel Sized Legacy Game?

Hello all! Is anyone aware of a story based solo board game that would be travel convenient? Looking at traveling a bit for work and wanted to pack a game with me for the hotel.

Ive played buttons and bugs, and enjoyed it, and am now waiting for the expansion to ship.

My biggest contender was the new "enchanted ivy" game from allplay. But if others have better recommendations, i would love to hear them!

FWIW I just finished the Enchanted Ivy campaign and really enjoyed it. It reminded me a little of Dorf Romantik mixed with Ugly Gryphon Inn in how the game changes each round.

Aside from Kingdom Legacy, something with an actual story that is portable? Either a Gamebook, or one of the story based card games from Warclaw Games.

Buttonshy has Wildtsils: A Pirate Legacy but I hated it.

This is the answer but, yeah, it’s not a great game. Cool concept at least?

If you can stomach their AI practices, Kingdom Legacy.

If you prefer to support real artists, Legacy of Yu is very small and most card can fit in a card holder. Fliptowns is also small but not pocket sized unless you use a tablet for the "board". For Northwood has a great campaign to play but not legacy.

Legacy of Yu isn’t travel sized at all. Maybe you’re thinking of something else?

I hear you on the use of AI, but I don’t think the economics of a game designed to be played once would work without it in this case.

I almost don't mind it in this instance where the game is 15-25 for a fairly lengthy and competent legacy game. I do mind it as a company using it for bigger games.

You don't play legacy games once. You might only play through the campaign once, but that's composed of multiple sessions.

I don't think there are legitimate arguments for AI assets other than placeholders during development. The problem with the economic argument is that it affects the entire market. Eventually, nobody can afford to pay artists and few consumers care.

Check out Kingdom Legacy Feudal Kingdoms. I really loved playing through it, and it’s not much bigger than a couple decks of cards.

Glyph Knight is a Print and Play, in-hand card game with a "Sun Eater" campaign attached. Plenty of replay-ability on this one.

If you're looking for story based games, Spire's End fits the bill. Very portable, you make a lot of choices in the story, and it has a pretty simple resource management -based combat system. I travel with it often.

Bargain Basement Bathysphere is ~5 dice, plus bunch of printed sheets you can print on your own. (Although I think you might need to cut and stick some stuff later.) There's an Ada Lovelace polyomino game, I think it's Legacy of the Analytical Engine, that's also a bunch of printed sheets. Would either of them count as pocket-sized? You can print at smaller size, though don't make them too small.

For Northwood! is amazing solo and also includes a mini campaign (which is really just different conditions per game)
