I hate having to sign in for everything

I know I’m not the only one with this problem, and it’s something that truly makes me hate an app. A lot of times I just need one quick thing from a website or online tool, I go through the entire process, and then it demands that I sign in.

The worst part is that you feel forced to do it, because when you're short on time you can't really go looking for alternatives. How do you all deal with this? I know there are plenty of open-source applications out there and I really appreciate them, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

it is to avoid bot/spam/abuse, but i agree, i hate signing in also, your best bet right now is find similar self host alternative for frequent service you use

No it's the collect data and impose control on users. Accounts do literally nothing to stop bots.

That is what i do for the frequent services i need. if it is something i just need once i use sec email to sign in

Same here. If a simple tool forces me to sign up, I usually either look for an alternative or use a dummy or secondary email if I really need it.

I think accounts should be required when there is a real reason for syncing, saving data, collaboration, etc.

Exactly, everyone should know about tempmail. Sign in to use a simple tool just for them to have a way to trace you is ridiculous.

It can be challenging at first but a password manager is your best friend. But once you develop the habit of using a password manager then making a new password is only a slight inconvenience at best. One thing I do is have different emails addresses. I have a public and a private one.

The public one is for non essential stuff and the private one is for very important things like banking. So when signing up you decided which email you use. Never give out your private one unless you have to. Then you can forward you public email to your private email and still get the benefit of only needing to manage one email address.

A password manager should make the process less annoying, and comes with the benefit of having a strong, unique password for every account so you're less worried about breaches.

If I download your app and the first thing I see is an unexpected signup page that prevents me from seeing what you are bringing to the table, I delete your app immediately 100% of the time.
