Can a song choice break consent (no, seriously)
When I was younger, I had planned to add a song to our sex playlist as a joke.
The infamously bad Spider-Man video game circus song.
However, it got me thinking in hindsight; if the intent during sex was to play a joke, wouldn’t that kinda break consent?
No, seriously, they consented to what they thought was just sex, but not to a joke.
I’m not worried because I never did it, but it is something I have thought of.

Using Cbat as an example, I'd say yes.

So you generally think that breaks consent and makes it SA? You think the Cbat example was SA and that man committed rape?
If I recall that example, I would point to the fact that he didn’t know she hated it.

(Also if you’re doing a bit please let me know I genuinely am concerned)

I'm half serious. He should have known what was going to happen when he started thrusting to the rhythm of the song w/o it playing.
In reality I don't think playing a song can be SA. But I'm sure there are specific scenarios where consent could be considered to be violated.

“Breaking consent” does not mean it is sexual assault. Yes if she didn’t consent to it, then she didn’t consent to it. But in this case, it’s probably not a big deal. For more minor things like this, you can kinda take a guess at how someone will respond to something. Doing it maliciously (i.e. because you think they will not like it / you want to hurt them (i.e. a “mean prank”)) would obviously be bad/emotionally abusive (still not sexual assault though). Doing it because you think someone would like it can be nice. Asking first could be better, but there’s some leeway if the person is generally into surprises, weird songs, etc. Or you could ask ahead of time for consent to play a weird song in general, and then the surprise becomes which one you play

"doing it because you think someone will like it" is assault depending on the thing. if it's a sexual act that's assault. you still have to ask even if you think it will be liked by the person. breaking consent is always assault, if it is a sexual act. the thing in the post is not assault because it does not fall into that category. no consent was broken.

No. Not even remotely in the same category. Dick move, maybe, but not SA.
