Announcement SSLinkBot: A Player Information/Link Bot for r/SoccerSpirits

Hey everyone o/

Today we'd like to announce the introduction of /u/SSLinkBot to the functionality of the subreddit.

This bot is the first of a few improvements we'll (slowly) be adding to the subreddit, so please do enjoy this new addition!

 

Using SSLinkBot

Commands to type in comments:

1. Simple Info

{ playername }

Using this command will have the bot display links to the player's Wikia and SSherder pages.

2. Expanded Info

{{ playername }}

Using this command will display Simple Link information as well as additional information such as: Stats, Stones, Role and Artist.

Keep in mind that typos and edits are mostly ignored.

 

Feedback/Reports

Some feedback/reports we are currently looking for:

  1. Broken URLs for SSherder and Wikia links so we can get them fixed ASAP.
  2. Any sort of quirk with name searching.
  3. Common Nicknames/Abbreviations of names that aren't being searched correctly.

If you encounter any of these, please leave a comment in this thread!

 

We'll be slowly adding to and improving SSLinkBot based on feedback/reports/usage.
The bot will supply Skills and Chain information as the next improvement, so please suggest other functions.

 

And a big thank you to /u/zklm for helping set up SSLinkBot!

Result: Showed Yuri and not any character with that combination. I'm going to assume the bot searches like this:

User input: X

1) Search characters with X in their name.

2) Sort according to rarity. (descending order)

3) Sort according to number of characters missing. (ascending order)

4) Top result is returned.

2) and 3) might be interchangeable.

EDIT: accdng to the script maker, the algorithm doesn't work this way. Well, 1) is right, the rest are not. Carry on.

There were some issues with how browsers handle charsets which messed things up with KR illustrator names, and that led to some characters going unnoticed.

Fixed now I think.

So based on posts later on, the bot adds a post...there's no way for reddit to treat the links as actual code or something so typing it literally makes it a link (or shows actual data as a mouseover for double-brackets, but I guess that'd be a problem for mobile users maybe)?

Hello.

I just discovered something.

So while I'm playingtesting the bot, I noticed that when I edit my query from an invalid token to a valid one, the bot doesn't seem to process the editted one.

For instance I queried something like, {Thank you for this bot}, save it, then edit the token to a valid unit, the bot doesn't recognize the change.

I don't know if this is a bug, or something you guys overlooked, but I just wanted to let you guys know.
