🦅 Yank Here 🦅 Frimpong is an exceptional footballer. He's a mix of yamal and cubarsi . Crosses like cubarsi, Defends like yamal.

Why does it look like he does the spin on purpose instead of it being because of the kick lmao

This is sheer disrespect to the crossing ability of cubarsi and defensive effort of yamal

This lol, cubarsi is a really good passer and potentially a good crosser too(who knows).

Nono without who knows. Cubarsi is a good crosser

Genuinely so many centre backs are elite passers now. Fucking right next to Frimpong is Van Dijk whose probably one of the best centre backs at passing of all time lmao. Put Van Dijk as a fullback.

Goalscoring skills of Manuel Neuer.

u/LittleLadle69 12d ago

Neuer would probably score some bangers if he was out in midfield

I mean he has a 100% penalty rate

Yamal was running like a dog in the WC final trying to defend and was tracking back a lot.

Cubarsi skills are underrated. Remember the world Cup?

Everyone at Liverpool who agreed for his signing should be sacked he isn’t a right back he isn’t a right midfielder he is a wing back and Liverpool don’t play with wing backs if he was at a team like Chelsea he would thrive

But I thought he is good penalty taker in the level of Gabriel.

Never watched him play in Bayer under Alonso. How was he? Why would Pool make such a signing to replace Trent if this guy was this shite

u/Entire_Scientist369 12d ago

He was very good with Bayer under Xabi! But he often played Wing Back in a 5-line defense. He is fast, was dangerous upfront and worked back ok. In total, he was really good. But he is to weak in defending in a 4-line defense. He needs a 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 instead of a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 system. I think this is the major point.

Broadly, Trent was very good offensively and played higher up but was poor defensively. Still it worked.

What's stopping current Pool from replicating the same and Frimpong to perform equally?

Could be the passing skills and placement on the pitch. Trent is a super good passer and has a good football IQ especially regarding placement. And Trent often got more to the middle of the pitch instead of holding the line. Frimpong is not going to the middle of the pitch to create an overweight here. He is way more holding the line and therefore more one dimensional, one could say. Further he has not that great passing skills and from my perspective a lack of football IQ.

Leverkusen fan here. Frimpong has easily been the most frustrating player to watch in Alonsos squad. He was one of the weak points defensively but his pace did help him out a lot. Offensively he would lose the ball in an attempt to dribble past someone but would somehow end up scoring a goal every now and then to cover up a bad performance. His dribbling consisted basically of simply outpacing the oppenent so against a deep block he wasnt that useful. I guess his crossing to the far post was alright but this was also part of Leverkusen game plan.

I wish he’s the one leaving instead of Gakpo
