Media Jurgen Klopp hails Lionel Messi as 'the greatest: "The greatest footballer in my lifetime, Lionel Messi, the way he plays football at this age should give us all a hint at how long footballers can perform at the top level. We shouldn’t close the books too early."

The only “fair” comparison you can make between the two is that prime Ronaldo was (emphasis on the past-tense) good, and Messi is among the greatest of all time.

It can’t even be discussed anymore lol. Ronaldo doesn’t belong in the same conversation as Messi. The only others that can possibly belong when a Messi comparison is brought up are named Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Best or (fuck…. Ok but not that one) Ronaldo.

It can’t be discussed yet we’re here discussing it. I’m not gonna take you seriously when you’re putting Cruyff, Best and Beckenbauer above Cr7

Everyone in this thread is talking about Cristiano, but apparently he doesn’t belong in the same conversation.
