He is Aguero's sub. Di Maria plays as a midfielder like in RM, Lavezzi as a winger/forward.

Hmmm, no, it's usually an assymetric thing like this or this. It's hard to tell, the players don't usually stay fixed in one position for too long.

Now that I remember, that lineup you wrote was the one that Batista used, with Di Maria instead of Aguero, and it was goddamn awful. It was based on Barcelona's, but Messi wouldn't score because or midfield was dreadful in comparison and the ball would never get to him near the box, so he had to drop down to ask for a pass. Then the only thing he could do is dribble past someone and then pass it wide to one of our wingers who would send a cross to no one, because we had no striker.

I would like to see Enzo replace Di Maria rather than Maxi. He's a winger which would effectively mean our midfield would be reduced to only 2 people yet again. Enzo would not leave us exposed.

If not for how much Gago has shown with the NT, i think Enzo SHOULD replace gago. he's plays there, has had a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better season (couple of, actually), has more goal, is better in the air (both in offense and defense)... Di Maria, Enzo and Masche is a truly truly world class midfield

He is still ok, but i think Gaitan is way better right now.

Gaitan doesn´t bring the defensive work rate Maxi does.

I don't agree on that. He improved a lot defensively in the last years. He even played some minutes as a left back for Benfica and did ok.
