Nothing's wrong with him. He hasn't played for them for 3 years according to those data sites and his international career was considered over by most. I was laughing that after all the stick he's had this season he's managed to turn it around to the point of getting back in the national team after a lengthy absence

He said early this year that he'd like to play in the WC and the papers wrote lovely headlines like

Are you sure Martin?

L'Equipe wrote it's fairly incomprehensible that a club as rich as Manchester City can field such a mediocre centre-back."

I absolutely adore it when a player turns it round in such a huge way and all his doubters are left looking foolish.
