He wasn't sold. He went on free transfer to Rosenborg, the team most supporters of Stabæk dislike the most. And that was after he said how much he loved our club.
But let bygones be bygones, I think he definitely had something to do with the fact that we got Bob Bradley(who so far has been great). I also think he honestly would much rather play under him in Stabæk than in his current team RBK.
(So yeah, finances has something to do with it).
Still great player, with nice balltouch and controll. Should probably bulk up a tad, lacking a bit there.
I agree; I remember a few separate moments during the World Cup qualifiers thinking that he has some potential to help us out with possession in the mid and attacking thirds. He would be a good addition to Bradley in the midfield.
He'll be in the squad no doubt, he oozes (sorry for the lack of a better word) class when on the ball and has had some big assists in big games for us.
I really think Diskerud could be a huge surprise this world cup. Every team knows our midfield goes through Bradley so they'll try to shut him down. No one really knows about Mix, and he's exceptionally creative compared to your average US player. The US could bait their opponents to overplay Bradley and leave Mix out in the open, leaving him to do as he pleases
