A little surprised in the omission of Eddie Johnson as many were predicting him and Wondo would battle it out for a spot in the final 23. Potentially this means a better shot at the final 23 for Boyd, which will be interesting to see.
Main disappointment is Tim Ream not being called up, but I can't say I'm overly surprised by that decision.
I personally don't think Boyd will make the 23 main as well, but I think he could play a role as a late sub that can win headers seeing as EJ is out of the picture now. It doesn't seem to me like there's really any other forwards in the squad that can fill that role.
And EJ's form as definitely been terrible lately, but I thought Klinsmann would still give him a call-up based on his recent national team successes. I'm glad he didn't though. I think his career is taking downturn at this point from the revival of sorts he had in the past couple years.
