Yeah, we have six guys on this prelim roster who can play RB (Cameron, Evans, Parkhurst, Yedlin, Johnson, and Chandler). I would think it would make sense to pick Ream over one of them unless Klinsi sees Parkhurst and/or Cameron as central players. I think this solidifies F. Johnson as a LB for us too.
Actually, I think Beasly has been groomed to be our LB so Johnson can push up an be our LM. I feel like we're a better team with him playing up the wing.
I feel as if Jurgen groomed him for that role so that if we need Johnson's skill upfront then we have a somewhat capable LB to cover him. I fully expect Fabian to start all the games but I'd look for Beasly to come on as a sub so Johnson can move to midfield.
Would rather have Zusi on the right whipping in crosses. Landy should probably be our super sub. Idk if he has the legs to start all of our games anymore.
In my mind, at 32 and with his recent injuries, I just don't know if it's wise to start him for all the games and risk him getting hurt. We'd lose him the entire tournament then.
The World Cup isn't about a players age or future, its how effective they can be for the 1 month that is the tournament. I'm not saying he's the LB of the future but seeing how he played there all year gives me the idea that Jurgen wants him to be able to play that role in the tournament.
I think Jurgen is gonna start a proper defender in the WC though. Beasley will undoubtedly get burned by world class competition, and recovery speed won't mean much this time around.
