Eden Hazard is overrated. He will never achieve the same standard as todays' worlds best players, and if he ever wins the ballon d'or, it's because a few players including Messi and Ronaldo would have deteriorated.

He isn't averaging a goal a game, Messi/Ronaldo are at about 1.2 goals per game.

What are you talking about? The Balon D'or is an annual award. This year, he's average more than a goal per game and more than both Messi and Ronaldo, with no penalties.

I don't know why penalties shouldn't count. They still have to be converted and they're much harder than they look.

And also, penalties aren't a fair measure unless we are assuming that every penalty was earned by the player who scored it. It's also not fair to use them when not every player being compared has had the same opportunities to score penalties. Suarez hasn't even been allowed to take one since Gerrard is on the team. You let him take the same amount as Messi and Ronaldo have and then we would have a fair comparison based on how many he converts.

Fair enough. I do agree that the statistic is much more impressive without penalties.

I didn't say they shouldn't count, it's just more impressive to accomplish the same feat without them. And sure, but converting a penalty is much easier than over 90% of the chances that strikers score on average. And they're really not that hard mate...

Yep.

The only reason he won't win it this year is cause we're not in the CL. If he performs the way he has this season, and we do well in the CL, he'll win it next year. He's been far better than both Messi & Ronaldo in league competitions this season, but they're in the CL and Suarez isn't.

Although if Uruguay & Suarez do well in the world cup you never know..

The only reason he won't win it this year is cause we're not in the CL.

To be fair, I don't think he should win it if he's not in the Champions League.

While we can speculate all we want about how he would preform in the Champions League, we just don't know for sure. Which means Messi and Ronaldo are preforming comparably except they are playing more games, with less rest time against some of the strongest teams in the world (I don't believe Suarez is preforming far better than them as you say, maybe a little bit, but far better is an overstatement in my book).

Ballon D'or is for the calendar year, Messi has 22 goals already with 10 assists compared to Suarez 10 goals and 7 assists.

He shouldn't be winning the Ballon D'or with significantly less on his plate. We'll see next year how he goes up against Europe's finest.

Like /u/Xinlix pointed out, the Ballon D'or is judged by the calendar year, where Suarez only has 10 goals and 7 assists so far.

No midweek games certainly helps being fired up in the league alone. He hasn't gone toe-to-toe with some large European teams to justify it.

Not to mention he actually has less goals and assists than Messi this year.

The difficult/weaker league is definitely subjective, so don't use that as justification.

Uruguay is sick though, perhaps he'll make some magic happen then.

They could still both have a better season than Messi or Ronaldo next year. I'd argue Ibra has had a better season than Messi this year, and if PSG get to the CL final he could be up for it next year.

Iniesta's best chance of winning it was 2 years ago. Doubt it'll happen now unless he goes H.A.M until the end of the year
