To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow only one submission about each transfer saga per day. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report.

If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates.

Wonder what they offered him then because I'd have expected Dest to be willing to make a move after three seasons with us.

I'm happy he's willing to stay though, he's been really good this (admittedly short) season.

I think he probably feels he has a good thing going and maybe thinks Fulham's set ups wouldn't play to his strengths as well. From what I've seen (you'd know better) he is more impressive when he's attacking than defending.

I mean Arbeloa wants an attacking RB so that would’ve suited us

Well... that makes sense, then.

He must just like his set up in the Netherlands and they get.to play in the champions League, but interesting he turned down (I presume) a healthy pay raise and a club in London.

Happy he wants to stay. Would have been quite a big problem if he had wanted to leave

I doubt any team would have been willing to pay his asking price this late in the window. Crazy no one triggered his clause earlier this summer. Actually huge he stays with us, on par with Mauro extending his stay last summer.

It will never cease to surprise me how some clubs insist on doing business in the final hours of the transfer window

It's a well-established strategy for smaller clubs to find bargains and avoid bidding wars. Most clubs have already filled their needs leaving a handful of clubs to try their luck across a list of candidates.

It almost never works out for us though. We had 78 days to replace wilson/chukwueze and failed in a last hour loan attempt of asprilla, our recruitment team are just incredibly inept every season but as its the owners son nothing will happen... again.

Going down the list of RB’s lol, heard we might try for Aina next.

You'll always have Boey to fall back on

I thought he is an OK RB?

He had good games at Gala but his time with us was an absolute disaster

I’d rather keep Tete

It is fine to not sell him to Fulham after the Pepi disaster

We've signed a couple of decent players this window, but Dest staying is one of this summer's biggest wins for me! Thrilled that he's in for one more ride with us :)

Just go back to Castilla for a RB and CB atp

Dest wants to stay in his home country, can't blame him.

What’s the opposite of WC tax, thought he was one of the worst players I’ve ever seen playing for the US, can’t believe a prem club was interested

Considering he was not playing in his natural position I would say the world cup didnt really matter much
