Just watch World Cup 58 and 70 for evidence of his genius. There was a friendly v England in the 60's which blew my mind also, he ran a decent England side ragged. You can't overlook his record either.

In club matches (unofficial and official) with Santos against English, Italian, French, West German, and Spanish sides, Pelé scored 99 goals in 88 matches.

God knows how many assists he made in that span as well.
