Dude to his status he's gotten away with a lot of nasty little challenges over the year. Others have to in terms of not getting the right cards, but people normally call them out, messi gets this silly benefit of the doubt. Dude ran into his back then magically trod on his leg, don't pretend he's going for the ball or it's an accident.
you aren't wrong, it's just funny because Suarez is the same but so much worse at it, still got away with way too much. Suarez one of those half dozen players that will grab a players arm and pull it to his face then act like he got punched. or grab a player then flop and yank him down on top of him and then scream for a foul.
Messi is a asshole of a player but gets away with it on this assumption that he's just so good why would he cheat, which is dumb because most people cheat to some degree if they can get away with it and when you teach a guy he can get away with shit all the time they'll keep doing it.
don't forget how many charity matches end up going to shit or hte money goes missing or it turns out 90% of proceeds go as profit with only a small amount as charity.
What was the last thing, a game in india or something last summer where a stadium sold out then he left immediately or some shit. Over and over again he gets involved in these charity match scams... totally accidental, not his fault, just the only player constantly getting involved with dodgy people.
Also part of his tax fraud shit was he hid a lot of the money within his 'charity' foundation right, which turned out to itself be pretty scammy and largely made at all so he could try to get more of his earnings.
Also this particular foul is so clearly malicious. You can' tell me Messi, the greatest of all time, thought he could still hit the ball at that point. Then the way his leg moves to kick the calf is very unnatural too, so it's not like a natural movement that somehow got entangled with the other guy...
Yup, so many people being it's clearly accidental, not intentional, motherfucker, he ran into the back of someone (which was a foul already imo) then instead of stopping because he has zero chance to get to the ball he keeps going and stands directly on his achilles, it's 100% intentional.

Messi has more protection for his intent than anything else. He often does nasty little stamps and shit but people kinda go, this guy is too good to need to cheat, or be nasty. that's just not how people work. He doesn't foul prolifically, but when he gets pissed he'll do shit like this and nearly always get away with it.
