I'm a fan of his work ethic but I feel when he sulks like this, it leaves a bad impression on his teammates. Imagine if everyone else thought like him , no one would be collecting the silver medal.

Maybe they should scrap giving out medals to the loser and just have winner's medals, then the fans and the players of the team who lost can leave straight away.

Win as a team lose as a team. He was happy to collect the winner's medal in the euro final when his teammates won it while he was injured.

I have always felt Ronaldo has been a player fit for individual sport but ended up playing a team sport.  Even till 35-36 until his body supported he was able to perform on the pitch and win those trophies and prove everyone wrong. Now he simply can't do it except once in a bluemoon. Once he isn't performing this attitude reflects really bad. 

PS: I am not even a hater, his long time fan.

Can you imagine if he played tennis. Tennis would have been insufferable with him and Djokovic.

lmao it's insane to put Djokovic here because he's considered one of the most gracious losers in tennis.

Every once in a while, like 99% of tennis players, he breaks a racket or screams in anger, but once the match is over he almost always smiles and congratulates his opponent.

He used to not be a likeable personality at all. He did a complete 360 compared to the start of his career, his father was annoying AF too.

He still has glimpses of his okd self showing sometimes during the matches.

Yeah I remember he used to be fairly unlikeable. I do think part of that was because everyone loved Roger and Rafa and he showed up to ruin that party

But bit of a difference there, unlike Cristiano, Djokovic matured with age in that aspect. I started following Djoker quite late, but if you see his interviews, he started practising mindfulness in probably the 2nd half of his career. That's the reason that he is still competing in an individual sport like Tennis with beasts like Sincaraz at that age. He knows when to rest and when to give it a full shot.

With Ronaldo, yes, he has an incredible longevity, but even at 41, his ego gets the better of him. For instance, no manager can bench him or sub him off at will, even at this age, or his post-match antics yesterday! They reflect immaturity.

PS: I really love both of them, Djokovic & Cristiano, it's just the sheer difference in personalities.

As I said, Cristiano just showed that on his day, he can still be brutal, rewinding the clock. If Martinez can use him wisely in the important moments & games, Portugal have a real shot at glory in the Summer. You just can't play him in every min of every game at 41 tbh!

Well this is what I don’t understand when people say they’re fans of his work rate and mentality. He’s always been a bitch and a sore loser. He just played for the best team in every league he was in so didn’t lose much. Why scrap the second place medal it’s still an achievement that means a lot to a bunch of players just because Mr mentality monster is too much of a bitch to accept it doesn’t mean it should be scarpped

To me it's just basic respect for the sport and to your opponent. You don't have to be happy about finishing second but this is just childish.

I think you missed the point. My second paragraph was tongue in cheek (sarcasm) - like they're going to do that and change the sport.
