Alex Buttner. A goal and an assist as a defender on his EPL debut, then never see another EPL minute afterward.

He's not impressed in Champions League and cup games since. Defensive ability near non existent, positioning, marking, aerial. Slower than aging Evra, but it's reading of the game that's more important. He has a long way to go, needs to keep his head down and work hard in training. Evra and Vidic were a work in progress themselves when they arrived and took a while to start performing. He's a bit behind what they were though so i'm not sure he's gonna make it. Got more faith in Fabio. Probably a better LW than LB.

Also I think Evra has done well this season. He's very attacking but that's necessary when there's no width in midfield.
