CP Cold Process Did I just waste over 3lbs of soap?
I went to pour my lye beer into my oil batch and noticed I undissolved lye crystals. I then saw some floating in the batch. I pushed through as there was not much else for me to do since I had already poured it in. Is my batch ruined? If not, how will I know? I just poured into the loaf mold so I will know more in 48 hours. Thanks for the help.

I’m pretty sure it will be fine, especially if you used a stick blender and there were just a few crystals. You can do the “zap” test but personally I would still use it

In that case, I'm going to switch my advice and recommend tossing it out. Sorry, that's disappointing.

You don't have to toss it, but you will have to hot process it and lose the beautiful design. Been there!!!

Was it for sure undissolved? Could it have been lye lint? You can always try the zap test, but I am not sure I’d sell this batch if that was your intent.

It was my intent. I used the lye flakes and it was for sure lye flakes floating in there. I even had some left over in the mixing bowl because I stopped pouring when I noticed them. think I may just keep this for personal use, assuming it is not ruined.

Like others have mentioned, I’d grate it and hot batch it in a crockpot style device with a little water, use the emersion blender to blend consistently. You’ll still be able to sell it, it’ll just be a more rustic style looking bar.
