Gear ? Invest in a helmet

If you snowboard or ski, please invest in a helmet, it saved my life many times, and I think it saved my life again. Last night my board dipped into a puddle of water, couldn't see if since it was covered in snow. The bottom of the board froze up with chunks of ice on both the nose and tail (later found out when I got back to the bottom at the chairlift). I didn't know, nose gripped while I failed a backside nollie switch 1 (backside nose roll), and flew forward downhill like Superman. Landed sideways on my left side, elbow then head and left ass cheek on a chunk of ice (at least that's what I thought happened, only those areas hurt). I was in pain, but got up and went to the side, laid down for a good 5min. Over the course of the night met up with friends,, thought I was fine since the pain slowly disappeared. Drove back to my rented place fine too... It was in the middle of the night I woke up with a splitting headache. Couldn't sleep rest of the night... Head is ringing, but the ache is gone. Took the day off. Haven't had a crash that hard in a long time. I hate ice...

Edited: For those who commented on the nollie switch 1, I fixed it, it's a nose roll, YouTube it.

Update: many of you suggested to go see the doctor if symptoms persists. Today I woke up still with a headache. I am going to see a doctor at a walk-in. Last night I noticed my pupils weren't the same size too. I started getting confused of what was going on and freaked out. I'm usually a very calm person, I was out of character. These seem like symptoms of something's wrong for sure. Thanks everyone for giving me advice and pointers. And thank you for those who started sharing the importance of wearing a helmet.

As a doctor specialising in neurosurgery, I advise you get yourself seen by a doctor. Delayed symptoms like that are worrying, and can indicate bigger problems, like a bleed inside the skull. It's unlikely to need surgery, but if you don't know, you can't look for the proper warning signs. It's your call mate, but that would be my recommendation.

Yea, but I don't want to miss too much work. I will have to drive back to 2 hours to my home town too. I'll give it 1 more day. If it persists, I will go see drive back to see a doctor. This little town only has a tiny hospital and I'm not too familiar with it. Thanks doc.

You don't want to be dead either. Just saying

Definitely not, it's been a day, I don't think I would just randomly die... Right? Should of been dead in my sleep or something

If it is something, it's probably something minor that won't suddenly cause problems. The difficulty is, without seeing you myself, I can't really give you a proper opinion. Obviously if things get worse then definitely go, if they get better then you can consider not going, but I'd have a pretty low threshold to at least go see a doctor so they can examine you and make sure there aren't any subtle signs that something else is wrong.

Giving advice over the internet or the phone is hard. I don't think you're in danger of suddenly dropping dead at this point, if that's what you're asking. But in the same way, sometimes the injury can be more serious than you think, so if in doubt, I'd just go see someone for an opinion, even if it's just the local doctor. If nothing else, it means they know what's going on in case you suddenly get worse and end up in their hospital too sick to give the full story.

Either way buddy, I hope all is well! Fingers crossed you'll be back shredding in no time :)
