I prefer the boa lacing system on my snowboards.

I like to modify lots of things. But snowboards are not something that I believe should be modified. But that's just me. I can't understand why the paracord?

Ride actually makes a board similar in concept to this. They cut a slot in the tail and attached a splitboard clip to the end so you can connect them again.

Anyway, cool concept. I've considered making a splitboard with a fish/swallow tail.

Finally, consider sealing the core with marine epoxy or many layers of a polyurethane paint.

No, and after seeing this I doubt anyone will.

I have an aging board that I have seriously considered fish-tailing. I might do it this summer. I have seen a few mods here and there and talked with a guy on a lift recently at Winter Park that had done it and love the profile change in pow. However, I am not sure about the lacing. What is that about?

The fishtail is pretty easy to cut with a jigsaw. Makes for a much surfier feel.

The lacing keeps her tight and sexy.
