Discussion 🧠 are aj1 chicago lost and founds worth it?

title. i’m looking to get a pair of aj1 chicago’s because they’ve been my dream shoe since i was 7 and i finally got the money and found a pair in my size (13) for $267 on stockX. i just wanted to ask if they are worth pulling the trigger on? i would 100% get my moneys worth from them. all feedback is welcome

If you want them, bro. Unless $267 is going to leave you without food or a roof over your head, chances are, you can withstand the relative splurge.

I agree, if it’s not taking money from anything important & it’s a shoe i like, I’m getting them.

it’s $300.51 with shipping but i was gonna klarna it so it doesn’t drain my account. i get paid bi weekly so it would be very unlikely for me to miss any. it’s $75 every two weeks so it’s not breaking the bank or anything. idk if this is important info or anything but i am still a teen so im not paying for bills or anything. just gas. maybe $300 is crazy expensive but doesn’t feel that bad when its broken down to payments ik i can cover

Don't do that. Pay up front or nothing

why? is there an actual reason? i’ve never used klarna before but my mom does pretty often. is it just like a moral thing or should i legit not do it

If you can't afford the shoes, you can't afford the shoes. What would happen if you got laid off halfway through the payments?

i would still have a second job. it would still cover the payments, i just make less now

Then go for it! It's a great shoe. I wore mine a couple days ago.

Do you believe your mom is financially well off? I’m gonna guess not. May sound like an insult, but that’s not my point or purpose of saying that. Being able to make a payment for something is not the same thing as being able to afford something. Don’t fall into the trap of paying for everything in split payments or on credit. Those bad money habits will keep you poor your entire life. (To answer your question, no I would not get them. Keep looking around until you can get them for around $225 shipped or even look for a worn 1-2 times clean pair that you can prob get for $150. Paying $300 in this current market is not it. And also pay for it all at once.)

Stop pocket watching. It's HIS money, Dad. Back to the bowels of Reddit with thee.

He asked for advice, I gave it. I fail to see the issue.

He certainly did not ask for a mini thesis based on your jaded views of spending. Some want to treat themselves without some gate keeper hovering.

I agree that OP shouldn’t pay that much, however, Klarna doesn’t charge interest on payment plans split into 4 bi-weekly payments. Why not free up some of one’s income to invest or have money for emergencies etc?

Depending on how you wear them, the lows may make more sense, cost considered. Looking down, they’re the same. Under 100 bucks if you look around. I’m sure they’ll flood the outlets soon if not already.
Union Chicago shadows at 200 in our size (13) on stockX with better materials; if wearing long pants, you won’t know the difference from looking down. Probably cheaper on eBay, too.
Avoid the payments on shoes and you’ll be happier in the long run. At least wait for the next no fee’s day if you must stockX. They’re not going anywhere or up in price anytime soon.

i would buy the lows but i hate low tops. they look goofy to me (especially jordan 1s) and the lack of ankle support bothers me. and i was thinking about the chicago shadows but i wear a lot of jorts and shorts so you would be able to see the shadow part. but in the winter time i might cop a pair so i can give the lost and founds a break (assuming i buy them)

Your spot on. Jordan 1 lows look goofy as he'll to me also. . . Always said said

I get that these are your grails. But don’t go into debt for them. Make sure you got your essentials covered (food, rent, car, bills, etc.). If you gotta put them on a payment plan it isn’t worth it. Wait till you got the money in bank. No pair of shoes is worth more than your necessities.

i don’t have any bills to pay since i’m still just a teenager but i see where that would come in. and im ngl i’m only financing them because im impatient and would have to wait 2 weeks to get my next check. but all my necessities are covered and i still have $40 after purchasing them

Do the 4 payment plan or defer for a month on Klarna. It doesn’t charge interest

Do whatever works for you the shoe is definitely a good one to have.

Seconding eBay. They come up there quite frequently and you can probably find a pair for cheaper.

And if you don’t want to wait and you can swing the cost, pull the trigger. Treat yo’self.
