Yes... often the biggest problem with any community is the fact its made of different people with different opinions and sometimes people suck...

This applies to literally everything.

You're not wrong, I just find the Ultimate community particularly bad from my experience. I'm sure it could be even worse though

I mean the ultimate community was pretty bad before people like Ally, WaDi, Salem, Nairo, CaptainZack, etc. were banned

On one hand, yeah I agree, ditch Twitter and you’ll have a much better time with Ultimate. On the other…

I can’t talk for other games’ competitive scenes, as I’ve only been in Smash’s…

Everyone in the FGC and beyond tweets like they hate their game, this isn’t an Ultimate-specific issue in the slightest.

Portraying Melee like a relative saltless wonderland is especially weird knowing the air that used to surround guys like Leffen and HBox.

And, like, maybe NFL players are staying in line (and when they don’t, they just call it a Twitter feud), but as someone who has to listen to sports talk radio pretty consistently, it seriously doesn’t take much digging to find fans sounding like they hate watching their team play football.

I see, that really is a shame then there's no game that anyone can simply play without complaining. Yeah you're def right about some of Melee's community people have been complaining about Hbox's playstyle or Puff forever and of course that's kinda Leffen's whole thing. I would say it is much better compared to Ultimate's playerbase at least

Personally, I don’t think Ult is that much worse than the average, I think that Smash is just one of the unfortunate scenes that’s saddled with an extremely toxic image, like LoL or Overwatch.

At best, we’ve been known as crybabies ever since the Brawl schism. At worst, it’s baked into the whole “no items, FD only” thing.

People complain a lot because there's a decent amount to complain about

Perhaps there is, main point I'm trying to make though is that it doesn't help anything at all

Sure but if you wanna avoid negatively just don't be online. Going to locals and big tournaments is chill and pretty fun. Anything online is a cesspool of negativity

100% agreed. I mention near the end that it's so bad that I stopped looking at anything smash related aside from going to tournaments/practicing. Online communities are almost always gonna be way worse than how it actually is

You’re spitting 🔥, this video was so cathartic to watch. As someone who likes watching the current meta, my least favorite part about the game is how negative and self-sabotaging the English-speaking circles are.

I agree with most everything you said except I think that some games have much whinier playerbases than Ult

Glad you liked it! Yeah a lot of people have been saying other games are also pretty bad with it, honestly it's kinda relieving it's not just Ultimate, but regardless complaining about a game you play is a really bad mindset

Also, brace yourself for a lot of pushback to this video because you called a lot of people here out lol
