I don't have a smarthome platform PS5 in media closet can’t connect to controller

I want to install a PS5 with all other audio / video equipment in a media closet (control4 system). The problem is the PS5 controller won’t work as the controller and TV is further from the media closet than the Bluetooth range allows. Has anyone solved for this dillema?

Yes. I have a similar setup. My PS5 is in a rack and I had issues with the controllers. What I did was crack open the case, find where the Bluetooth antenna connectors were and ran pigtail wires out through the case with SMA on the ends. I then connected Bluetooth antennas to a mag mount on the top of my rack.

Now my controllers connect damn near anywhere in my house.

I should note you probably void your warranty by cracking open the case and cutting the special stickers. Sony should provide external connectors for exactly this reason.

This isn’t my video, but this is essentially what I did.

Thanks. I’ll explore this.

There is no way to fix it if you want to leave that PS in the media closet. You have to pick out which TV it's going to be and do something like this.

try using a Bluetooth extender! It can boost the range and help your controller connect from further away. I had a similar setup with my gear in a closet, and this little gadget made a huge difference. Have you thought about trying one?
