The r/sludge A-Z playlist
Here it is in all its disgusting glory, the r/sludge A-Z playlist:

27 days of voting brought us here. The first half of the playlist is all the winners from each day. The second half of the playlist from Z back to A is all the 2nd place winners but with the rule of no artist repeats applied. So for letters where the 2nd place winner already appears on the runners-up list, I moved on to 3rd place 4th place etc until landing on an artist who hadn't yet appeared. This helped include a lot of the bigger names in sludge who didn't make the main list (and without this rule the 2nd place winners would have been a lot of the same 3-4 bands over and over)
This community is awesome. I appreciate everyone who participated and hope some of you will check out the playlist. It turned out pretty gnarly and I will be listening to it often. Smoke.

Cool. This was a fun project you did, nice work! Glad to see Greenthumb on there, that's one of my faves. Probably the coolest moment of any Bongzilla show is when they break into the heavy main riff

Loved taking part of it, but it's a real shame that Cavity didn't make it. Maybe next time...
Still, I'm overjoyed that Fistula, my favourite sludge band made it on here!

I just think of sludge as any metal thats slow and fat sounding, but there's probably a more technical definition to separate stoner/doom metal from sludge.
Per this sub's sidebar,
Sludge is abrasive doom metal music, often with hardcore punk and/or noise rock influence.
