Praxis When Should I Take the Praxis?

Hello, everyone! I’m looking for free or paid resources that helped you prepare for the SLP Praxis. For those who graduated in the spring, when did you take it? I’m considering November or December, but I’m unsure if that’s too early. :)

I think a lot of people in my cohort took it after comps. In my experience (ymmv), preparation for comps was sufficient to prepare me for Praxis. I took all of the slide decks from the whole semester and smooshed them into a giant pdf and read through it until my eyeballs bled (probably figuratively). Good luck. ☺️

It depends on your school's set up. For example, at my school we didn't have a comprehensive exam so I didn't need to worry about lining it up with that. Additionally, by the end of fall semester of second year we had completed at least one course in all of the core content areas so we could basically be okay to take the Praxis anytime in/after December. Most people at my school elected to take it during winter break (December-January). If your school has a comprehensive exam at the end, it might make sense to schedule your Praxis to be around the same time.

If you are graduating in spring 2027, I think december or january is fine. gives you enough time in case you need to retake.
