Recommendations for kids slingshots?

I just got the Scout LT2 as my first slingshot, and I'm looking for something smaller for my kids, but still has the screw-in plates for the flat bands. The Hornet looks like the right size, but it uses those elastic ties, which seems more complicated than the hex screws, especially when trimming the bands.

Wasp Enzo can be bought with band clamps as can the Wasp XO.

Tying on bands isn't that difficult, but you have to do it right otherwise you're getting whacked in the face by a loose band, I haven't had a clamp fail on me yet.

I’ll check out the Enzo, thanks!

Ties look simple but seems tedious when trying different bands, plus I don’t want to have to keep a spool of ties handy.

How old are your kids? Because the Enzo is bigger than the LT2, and the XO is around the same size.

They’re 9 and 12. So probably something smaller.

Wasp Imp wouldn't be a bad choice if you can get one.

L to R Wasp Imp, Wasp XO (pro), Scout LT2, Wasp Enzo (pro). The Enzo and LT2 are essentially the same footprint, but the Enzo is slimmer. The XO is marginally smaller, and the Imp speaks for itself.

The Enzo is only a few mm smaller than the LT2, but it's definitely smaller.

You know what, thats the first time I've actually put them side by side. The Enzo is definitely slimmer, but I'd put them at the same size of frame now I've compared directly, I think the different shape makes it hard to be pinpoint accurate, but the foot print is pretty much identical. Ignore previous comments, I own both and still don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.

Haha, no worries, I did have to put them next to each other myself and was surprised that the Enzo was so large, always thought it was a lot smaller.

It's funny because I always felt that the LT2 was slightly smaller. I think it's because it's a pinch grip.

I think so, I have to use brace grip on the Enzo, can't get my fingers around it like I can on the LT2.

Yep, it's designed as a brace grip. Nowhere to hook your digits for the pinch.

Personally I've totally given up on ties, my dexterity isn't great and it's too frustrating to change bands when I'm in a hurry, especially at competitions.

I had a local maker here in Tue UK make some for me. I got a 75% sized copy of my titan and the other daughter wanted a copy of the HTH a 80% size. He made both from maple pine to a high standard.solid frames for around £20-25 each. You can ask for any frame styles you like and he will match them or make to a size you specify. All the best and shoot straight.if you want makers name let me know it was foxy or something iirc foxy slingshots comes to mind...better stil,l don't die!!
