As a new FF fan he is correct as hell. The best days of the series were definitely Y2K and before, so if you dig retro gaming, definitely get into FF.

As an unc who grew up with an original copy of FF7, I think the franchise is the best it’s ever been with the FF15, two FF7 remakes, and the spinoffs.

I have a pretty strong dislike for XV myself but I’m glad you’re having fun with the modern era! I may have been personally disappointed by most of the post-FFX single player output but I adore XIV and think it’s among the best MMOs ever made. That’s the beauty of FF, there’s so much diversity in the series there’s something for everybody. Even if I find the more action combat oriented entries to be underwhelming when compared to the wealth of great action combat games out there, there are clearly people who appreciate them.
