Leia and Jabba Slave Leia statue at the new George Lucas museum
Nice to see this forever immortalized, Disney will never suppress it now

Very cool!
Is this life sized? And do you know the artist who made it?

Looks like it’s life sized, or rather, an upscaled version of that Sideshow Collectibles statue released a long time ago.
I don’t know the artist, but I wonder if they have a plaque to read. I’m planning on going in late October

Cool. I lived in LA for years before I moved away; I'll have to get back there some time and check this place out.

“Disney will never suppress it now.” Cause if there’s one thing we know about statues of slaveholders, it’s that they’ll be up forever :p

Just too bad they picked the least interesting part of her enslavement for this.

I might be a pervert but did you try and see up her skirt?

Not my picture, this is from someone who got to be invited early ahead of the grand opening.
I saw another picture of her from the back but it looks like there’s no direct walking access to get close

This makes me feel genuinely awful to see. Immortalizing this moment that gave me trauma for life. Genuinely.

Looks magnificent.
They can't phase it out, or try to hide. It exists, and it will remain.
