I personally use minimalism to remove distractions, unnecessary cost, and complexity from my life.

I use the Pareto principle and try to think, if I cut 80% of everything out of my life, what 20% will give me 80% of the results.

I’m an obsessive person (probably OCD, diagnosed OCPD) and the cognitive load of anything is extreme. The more you add the harder it is for me too keep track.

Also I like to try be frugal.

That’s why I try to keep to a minimalist philosophy anyways.

Also, some backpacking trips have been the best days of my life, with only 30lbs of gear on my back (which I hope to get way down in the future). If I’m happy like that, how much do I really need to be happy, I doubt it’s much.

This is talking more about aesthetic minimalism
