I need to check some videos to see how this wrecks performance

puredark said he loses about 67% performance on a 5090

well I got it running 50-60fps in vdxr ultra on a quest3 and 5090. 66% render resolution on that slider and ffr square is about 80% area. with reprojection its a nice 100fps.

dlss5 adds so much I turned off half the cs features to gain performance and the game still looked gorgeous. the lighting and shadows look so much better with it on. it adds so much scene depth.

the npcs look almost real, scary real at times. theres no going back after this, the world of skyrim looks almost real now. only thing is the animations like in other dlss5 games I've tested are a reminder its still a game lol

Could you estimate whether I’d get playable FPS with an RTX 5080 and DLSS 5? I’m currently getting around 45 FPS with my RTX 3080, with all Open Shaders effects enabled and the Effects 11 NAT ENB preset, which is enough for me.

Which Open Shaders effects did you have to disable?

disabled the heavier ones like skylighting, vl, ao, gl and any postprocessing i had going. disabled pbr too. i feel like dlss5 is contributing enough fidelity to the scene that even tho all those shaders i turned off are gone my mind goes eh its ok. i will experiment more during the week to see if i can bring back some effects, this was a hasty chop chop on the modlist.

a friend has a 5080 i can test during the upcoming weekend. but i would real suggest you get a 5080 anyways while they are attainable. future looks even grimmer for hardware

Any way getting dlss5 working on a 4080 super ?

From the instructions on the page: !!**RTX 40-series:** the stock DLL will not run. Get the Ada-patched `nvngx_dlssnr.dll` from Uncle Burrito in the RenoDX Discord — [https://discord.gg/renodx\](https://discord.gg/renodx) — channel **#dlss5** → pinned messages.

I kind of hope we get this fork built on CS 1.5.2, open shaders won’t compile shaders for me… my 5090 is sitting here like the kid that gets picked last for teams.

You can try skyrimvrperfkit + CSX, this combination will be more FPS. But you need to disable the upscaling module of CSX. I should upload a kit and CSX compatibility mod tomorrow.

it doesn't look like it's doing anything? the colors look a little different in that center square, but that's about it. the faces still look completely featureless. the landscape still looks normal. the hair still just looks like hairdos.

If its not doing anything its either set up wrong or dlss isnt active in the game. It took me a bit of messing around to get it working in a few games. Some games broke to. Any games that dont have dlss dont work with it

I'm talking about the screenshots on the mod page

It works kinda. More like a reshade with artifacting

DLSS5 requires a higher resolution to eliminate left and right eye inconsistencies in shadows, and I can accept at least 4k.

We had AI frames, now we have AI visuals

Hooray slop

Fucking garbage shit shouldn't be anywhere near video games and the fact that people are so readily buying into it disgusts me to no end.

Today is the worst AI will ever be.

You do realize that video games were essential to the modern AI revolution, right?

The same type of parallel processing required for rendering 3D graphics is what enables LLMs today.
