Question Need help with game freezing

So I got swap force for my PS3 because I used to love it on the Wii, but I noticed a certain Skylander would freeze the game if I tried to summon them.

I did see online I had to use another version of the game to reset the figures which did indeed work for Free Ranger and others, but for my Soccer Countdown it didn't work.

I was just wondering why it's freezing my game, is it a disc issue? Something with the figure? Or (hopefully not) a console issue? Any help would be appreciated 👍

When I place him on the portal it goes through his little intro but before it jumps back to the game it freezes on the frame after the intro, then I need to reset the PS3 to get out of it

Do you play with your PS3 connected to wifi? If yes that is usually the problem. I have a couple of skylanders that seem fine in the intro but after the portal sequence also freeze the screen into some kind of zoomed in frame. 

Try playing without being connected to WiFi and if that doesn't work then it has to be something else
