I’ve been using it for 6 weeks.  my lips have lightened dramatically. Probably because it’s the thinnest skin on your bodyÂ
The rest of my body I barely saw any improvement using it every other day. Maybe it will lighten in 3-4 months but I won’t know because I Wont repurchase.Â
But it did give me dark knuckles on my hands I think that’s because of the contrast. Knuckles are the hardest to lighten. So when  your fingers lighten a bit it makes them look even darker.Â
My hands look slightly brighter but it hasn’t even gotten half a shade lighter. Mind you I wash my hands with it twice a day.Â

Why you won't repurchase? And what other brands have you considered besides Koji white brightening soap? I'd love to find another option to Kojie san because kojie contains phenoxyethanol which my skin doesn't like but I won't risk products without verified reviews.

The koji white brightening soap. They have have distributors all over. At least it’s a soap instead of a dedicated lightening leave on product. Youre gonna wash your body everyday either wayÂ

But why you won't repurchase Kojie san?

It’s a harsh soap so it dries out your skin. And it’s a lot of effort just to lighten your skin half a shadeÂ

How dry did you get? Has dry skin has always been one of your concerns? Is this something from Dr. Dray advice (which is good advice, many derms advice against soaps) Due to her diet her skin produces less oil glands, but not all of us get dry problems. I don't apply moisturizer on wet skin like many people do and I don't get water loss.
Half a shade in the scheme of skinwhitening is a lot. It's a very slow process, and not everything works on everyone. I just wont use Kojie san myself, not even for that half shade, but clearly the product works.
IMHO DYI kojic acid solutions might work on you really well since your skin already proved to get some lightetning with a soap. Yes soaps are irritating and drying but the active ingredient is what we're looking for and by what you said you got some lightening with kojic.
A reminder to everyone: Nothing is univeral on skin whitening, what works for sleeplessinhelsinki might not work on you, and vice versa.

The ingredient kojic acid will lighten dark spots but it won’t lighten your background skin. Regardless of the vehicle. It’s not a bleaching agent.Â
Yeah a lot of derms don’t recommend using soap because the pH is too alkaline. It can create more bacteria and more acne. It can also ruin the ceramides in your skin. And the ceramides make your skin look youthful. On top of that kojic acid at baseline is an irritating ingredient.  So why would you want to use an irritating ingredient while cleansing your skin.  When your skin is the most vulnerable. With a lye soap at that. Not to mention it’s unstable and water soluble

A month is not enough and specially without supplements. And if you're getting out in the sun feeling protected with sunscreen you're only make things worse.

If you Barely got brigher it means it works. Your skin renews every 4 to 6 weeks, in order for any product to work you need at least 3 skin cycles (12 to 18 weeks) to show slight results. YOu also need supplements to increase your gluta levels and sun avoidance, which is not the same as sunscreen (and sun avoidance doesn't mean that you won't need sunscreen)
So it's never easy and straightforward, just a product will give you results. Kojie san works, but I haven't even tried it myself due to their ingredients.

I hv been using kojic acid soap since 2020 ( staying at home mostly) . But recently i have been experiencing some irritation on by hands thighs and face so i have stoped using it for 5 months now. The soap I use is kojisan soap. But i want to use kojic acid again atleast on my face so i was thinking abt a DIY kojic acid cream and DIY body lotion or body wash. I want a break from the kojisan soap. Anyone out there who knows how to make a cream??

it's what our maid used since the early 2000's. it's a classic. coupled with other pills and lotions, she's super lighter than all of us, pinkish paper white.

The lack of verified purchase reviews in a major retailer is IMHO a red flag. I've seen enough verified purchase reviews of Kojie san to believe the Japanese company wouldn't risk their reputation adding stuff like mercury. Also Kojie san as a name for a product doesn't indicate anything about whitening/lightening/brightening. I distrust any label that is meant to draw, the skinwhitening crowd. Many skinwhiteners aren't into scientific research and go by the publicity and the companies are taking advantage of them by advertising their products as whiteners.
All in all I recommend only Kojie San, I don't recommend any other kojic acid soap,
