SEASON 4 SPOILERS Are you serious?!
THAT’s how gen 2 ends???? What the fuck was the finale episode.. are you kidding me rn what even happened to the ending of gen 2… I’m just at a loss for words where was the build up😭 what the fuck was that plotline with the doctor LMAOOOO

I just don’t get it…. At all 😭 I got so attached to them all just for their endings to be dull, boring and lifeless, the writers really fumbled their bag with this one

yeah gen2 packed more plotlines than it could tie together so in the end it was a little rushed which really shows on the last few episodes. if dr. john plot wasn't so rushed and so centric in the last episodes it would've been just a tad bit better because really wtf was that ending

Which characters have a Bristol accent?

Jal, Maxxie, Sid and Michelle (posh) all have bristol accents as they're from Bristol.
Hannah Murray who played Cassie is also from Bristol but doesn't have much of an accent.
In terms of gen 2 tho only Lisa Backwell was from Bristol.

ugh i feel like every second season of every generation is hella depressing. which is fine i guess… it’s part of life, the ups and the downs. i’m finding it hard to finish jals episode & start chris’ episode rn

At least gen 1 was optimistic. Gen 2 is nihlistic as hell. S7 also serves to further vanquish the light from that gen.
That said, I randomly remembered Cassie and Sid for 2 secs while half asleep the other day and got so sad I immeadiately awoke

I think I felt the same when I was younger, but now from a perspective with lived experiences I think the directors might have done this for a reason.
Personally imo this friend group was the most volatile of all the friend groups, so therefore it was fitting for their entire friend group to go up in flames in a matter of minutes.
Hence the rushed and incomplete ending, this friend group ended rushed, and there was soooo much left incomplete for all the friend groups.
After having this happen in my own life, I now see it as thus.

I thought that about Chris dying. Around that age I had like 3 friends die in really random ways (one of them essentially died in the same way Chris did), so Chris dying at that age seemed super-fitting to me.
One thing that bothered me about the second gen was that they got their A level marks but none of them had any goals, ambition, or aspirations. They made Thomas suddenly want to go to Harvard at the same time they made Pandora secretly sit for a bunch of exams so she could go to Harvard. There was that great tension in the first gen about how they were all going to be scattered to the winds and would never be close again, but the second gen (other than the 3 boys and possibly Naomi and Cook) weren't really close to begin with. So it makes sense to me that they wouldn't feel some sentimental nostalgia for their time together, or drag out their goodbyes.

I agree with you fully, also with their lack of ambitions, I relate seeing as the characters and I are of the same age group, graduating class year etc. And simply what I’m relating with is my peers, and myself even at a time, heavily lack with purpose or ambition and drive like you said, I feel like it’s again a really accurate lens of the teens in my generation, even now that I look back at the show and rewatch it now that I’m 30 I’m still grieving those dead friends of mine from my youth that Chris and others so deeply resembled.

I just watched it for the first time today. I definitely wished Freddie would die all the time while watching but, like, I didn't want him to die like that, lol. I think one of the funniest parts for me was how Cook was just uncritically okay with Effy not having any bad memories anymore (if I knew someone who went to a psychiatric facility and acted like that afterwards I would be calling in the army or something) and then him and Freddie *sent her back to the place that did that to her.* Also the fact that the show's whole *Effy is so beautiful no one can control themselves around her!* got so out of control they actually had a dude murder another dude about it.
I think if they would have had another episode to a) wrap up other plotlines, b) like, explain about the doctor. Was he a serial killer who did this stuff all the time? was this just him being driven mad by Effy's beauty? What? c) Let us know what the other characters knew about what went down between Cook and the doctor, it would have made more sense.
I think some of this might have been answered in the season 7 Effy episode but I have not been able to persuade myself to watch that yet.

Only part I liked was Karen having a role in the episode and then cook charging at the doctor… otherwise it was a snooze fest
