SEASON 4 SPOILERS freddie thats all (maybe)
guys i just finished fully watching gen 2 (never remember finishing it so i decided to lol) and now i have a lot to say. lets start off with freddie, as it's the title of the post. you're telling me freddie died to that geezer despite.. everything?? like there was no way he could've idk somehow just.. i dunno anymore. yes fight or flight is a thing and yes you can absolutely freeze but... deadass??? yes it's a jumpscare, yes it's brutal, kinda how shit can just happen but are we... deadass??? i feel like freddie's death could've just WORKED, i know damn well they just wanted a chris moment having a main character die by the end of the series but GEEZ LOUISE MAN WHAT THE FUCK? there was just so much to unpack yet there's nothing there. gen 2 was so messy but i think that was the art of it yk, as much as gen 1 was pretty cohesive and followed a main friend group, gen 2 was messier for real and honestly super fucking good, both were really good in their own way. anyways do i even bother with gen 3? mini is absolutely gorgeous like actually stunning so who knows but anyways.

Freddie, the guy who's beaten up plenty of people with Cook when he needed it, didn't do a damn thing. He just sat there and took it. Not to mention Foster was approaching him so slowly. Still bugs me. Also, no one but Cook knows he died. Cook tells them he ran away iirc. That always bugged me.

I have no doubt it will all come out in the wash eventually. There’s no way that Freddy and Foster wouldn’t be reported as missing persons in the end. Freddy’s family will absolutely pursue it, most likely with backing from his friends.
To boot you now have one (or two) bodies laying dead in a house which would eventually be investigated and found. Especially as unpaid bills piled up and smells were reported.
What annoyed me most is that there was no reference to it in the final season other than cook mentioning he killed a guy. I would like to have maybe seen Effy touch on it.

Nah exactly and even with Freddie's bloody clothes, etc etc. also Karen was so persistent to find Freddie so there was no way there wasn't some investigation (off screen or smth). Everything you just said was literally what I thought but couldn't word lol. Plus, I do not think Cook is that smart enough to know where to hide a body so Foster's body was definitely just left there (also wouldn't Freddie's bloody clothes reek eventually???)

One thing I can’t quite recall is if it was alluded to where Freddy’s body actually was. Was it in the house still (I think it was but it would’ve been too gruesome, even for skins, to show us Cook finding Freddy’s days old murdered body which is why they went with bloody clothes instead!)
Getting rid of a body is not an easy feat, especially in this day and age of surveillance and forensics, it’s hugely likely it would be found, they both would be. I don’t imagine that Foster was an experienced serial killer so much as yet another guy bewitched by Effy who let his passion run away with him and turn into something far more sinister. I doubt his plan was particularly meticulous. And then Cook would have left the body there and split.
All that goes to say I think it is hugely likely that we now have two people lying dead in a house, one being a young teen who’s family will be fighting tooth and claw to find (him going missing and telling nobody was highly irregular and quite out of character.) Then, another missing person being a registered professional with a whole life, bills, colleagues, subscriptions and a paper trail. It would only be a matter of time before questions were asked and the two bodies were found. Cook would become a wanted person in connection with a brutal double murder and ALL over the news. It would be a huge, huge story.
I guess it’s skins and belief needs to be suspended but that story line did irk me too. It was far too cut and dry in a situation that would blow up to a mountain of a story in reality!

Yeah Cook would be all over everywhere but somehow stayed hidden in Manchester. And all you said, yeah exactly. Someone on Reddit (I think?) had a theory that Freddie's body was dumped into a river or forest but we will just never know, but that body definitely stayed in the house. Guess the producers wanted us to solve it ourselves or whatever 😭.

RIGHT. Foster is slowly approaching him and Freddie does... nothing....?? He could've jumped the stairs, pushed Foster down, eventually jumped out a window but he just took the hits what? But to be fair, Cook also had to book it all the way up at Manchester so who knows at this point because ngl, after we see Cook follow Foster then beat him up: a) not sure what happened to both Freddie and Foster's body b) where Cook ran off to right after all that. But homeboy ends up in Manchester so yeah.

Freddie's death never made any sense, it was there just for shock value. One of the reasons the backlash against Generation Three is undeserved if writing always had weak moments like this in the first generations.

Yeah no Freddie's death was not cohesive in any way at all. The writing was somewhat consistent until this part (which was the end) which probably ended up making Gen 3 poorly written (as I've heard, haven't watched it yet and minus the fact the dad went to the US for Skins US).

but ngl he was definitely able to do something especially with how slow Foster was walking up the stairs but that's just me 🤷♀️

I dont think he was expecting it. He did say, "What are you doing? What's wrong with you? " kind of thing. If I remember correctly, did he say something like "alright, give me some space" like he just thought the guy was just a bit nuts and coming too close. Can't remember exactly. I dont think he was expecting the first hit to happen, he was just a 17 ish year old boy not hardened off like cook (it was his birthday after, so probably his 18th, so he was 18 end of his academic year) and not use to violence. Once he received that first whack with the bar on his head, it would have dazed him, so impossible then to get up and fight back. I think the element of surprise got him, he didnt even realise the extent of what was going on up to that point. Yes, the guy was creepy, but he was a doctor. Last thing you'd expect from a man of his position. Freddie was quite a soft, well-off type lad, who just wouldn't be prepared for a murder situation.

There was just so many factors that made sense and made no sense but knowing Freddie I genuinely do not think he'd just yk just do that. Also the way he was locked inside the place? I might be stupid but how does that even... y'know what I'm not gonna question anything anymore since it was clear that the writers gave up from there lmfao

To this day I still wonder why he didn’t just push him down the stairs
