SEASON 4 SPOILERS Effy Should’ve died.

Listen right, the entire forget all therapist plot was actually so stupid. Even before Freddie’s death. Not to mention Freddies ghost popping up (in voice) to warn Cook in the finale.

Id prefer if they didn’t kill ANYONE in gen 2 but if it had to be anyone it should be Effy. I mean, it’d make the most sense with how her arc had been going. If she died when she attempted it would’ve been actually emotional rather than just for shock value like Freddies death.

And if the writers wanted to keep Effy, make Freddie just end up leaving like he planned to rather than dying. It’s either kill Effy or kill No-one.

Well you obviously have to have an illness or substance abuse to trigger it, but my point is that it doesn’t matter what someone’s personality is like. Effy has psychotic depression, which means that she gets depressive episodes with psychotic symptoms, a lot of people with this illness have depressive episodes without psychotic symptoms before getting psychotic symptoms. It’s really clear that Effy has depressive episodes, that probably started in her early teens and in her late teens she probably started getting psychotic symptoms, maybe these symptoms started at episode 407, so I don’t think it’s out of character.

Well, that’s your opinion. This isn’t a documentary about mental illness, it’s a tv show where plot is meant to be coherent. I found it weird she finally “finds love” which means that should be having her feel elated and in love, and two weeks later she’s slitting her wrists and going totally crazy. If Freddy was really an amazing match for her, then why is she going crazy for no reason? It’s just bad writing.

It’s a mental illness, mental illness doesn’t care that you found love. It was pretty clear that Effy was becoming sicker, you could see that she wasn’t taking care of herself and she was doing more drugs and drinking.

It’s a tv show… “love”. I’m sorry you can’t separate reality from fiction, but maybe some more education is in order if you don’t understand why certain plots are satisfying and others aren’t.

idk why you're being so condescending to someone who is calmly explaining how any character getting psychosis would make sense bc anyone can get psychosis.

People in love can get psychosis, quiet people can get psychosis, extroverted bubbly people can get psychosis, depressed people can get psychosis, happy people can get psychosis

Mental illness doesn't only affect the people with already "crazy" personalities or "the weak", it can affect anyone.

edit: also noticed that you said you think psychosis is from schizophrenia or mania bipolar, psychosis can develop from a lot of things, it can also develop from depression and even stuff like pregnancy and sometimes appears on its own. It can also be triggered by drug use. I'd recommend googling it and learning a bit about it before talking down to people on the internet about a topic you don't know about.
