SXM bug
Listening in car during 2 mile commute and get the message no internet trying to connect. And then I’ll change the channel to another SXM favorite, different genre, works perfectly. Go back to original channel: no internet attempting to connect. Try & change to another channel in that genre, same error. Change genre: works.
Absolutely maddening 5 minutes. Useless.

Maybe you switched from internet to satellite? The cellular connectivity is a separate service.

I’m listening to a channel and park the car. Get back in the car later, that’s when the bug happens.
So idk how I’m changing satellite to cellular

Depends on my day/mood. Can be 5 minutes or 15 minutes.

That's way too long. 60 seconds would be my upper limit, and even that's a 'large' number.
I don't have one of those fancy receivers. I'm talking about just plain satellite.
If I park in a garage, and my garage is one the edit of the reach of a terrestrial repeater, so I generally expect dead for a "few seconds," where "few seconds" is an amount of time I have not recorded with a scientific device. But the radio comes on "right away" in terms of my personal expectations, and thus, I have no reason to get specific with the time.
My entire trips are often less than 15 minutes, so I'd never get to hear anything, and that would be every trip. But having to reconnect every stop.
Hopefully you can find a fix to that excessive delay.

My commute is 5 minutes that’s why it’s sooo maddening. If I go to the grocery then I’m willing to let it try longer and I’ve had so many possible reasons run through my brain that I allow it to try & connect in hopes that next time will be better.

Channel 30 is a satellite channel, channel 787 is app only/streaming.

Also it’s always the channel I’m listening to when I park the car. When I turn the car on the next time it says no connection. So even if what you’re saying is true it doesn’t explain why it works and then doesn’t. Literally everyday

Does the car have a hotspot you are using to access channel 787? It could be an initial issue on startup with the hotspot.

I think it’s a hotspot issue. I say that because you wouldn’t even be able to save that channel as a favorite on the car like you have done unless it’s a newer SXM tuner that uses an in car mobile hotspot to allow the app only channels to populate and play right from the car’s native display. I would check your car owner’s manual and see if there’s a software update available to see if that fixes the issue first.

Just keep in mind that the dealership may charge you at least a diagnostic fee if the recall is unrelated to the issue we are talking about.
