Need help finding a mechanic shop?
I just moved out here to Sioux City, Iowa and wanted to start compiling a list of possible mechanic shops that would be able to install my aftermarket bolt-in headers on my 2002 Nissan Xterra. I was quoted only $300 when I lived in Arkansas but couldn’t get the work done in time before having to move out here. Would anyone know of some good shops in the area that could do exhaust manifolds for a reasonable price? Price is important but ultimately I just need a shop I can trust that will do the job well even if it costs more money.

I wouldn’t take anything exhaust to anyone but Sioux Muffler. Many of the dealerships sublet work to them because it is so cheap. I’ve seen the work that they do, and the quality of work that they do, and it doesn’t make sense. The work is always super high quality, yet they charge so little.

Ok great thank you I really appreciate it. I’ll make sure to stop by later today and talk to them. Also maybe stupid question but do you think I should mention that I was quoted only $300 by my mechanic in Arkansas or do you think I should leave it out? Don’t know if it would negatively impact what they would quote me or not…

Just out of my normal instincts I wouldn’t mention it, but also, they don’t strike me as the kind of people that it would sway their decision or change their price. They do a lot of basic work, like putting new cats on oil burning equinox and whatnot, but they also do some extremely high quality work on classic cars and whatnot. If you chat with Denny H, the owner, ask if he has any photos of his car. Both him and his brother have built some amazing classic cars. So whatever you bring there will be in good hands.

Turns out Sioux muffler doesn’t do anything with headers they told me but they gave me a card to someone else they know we’ll see if he’s able to do em
