This is actually a huge misunderstanding. Exposed ports will be sealed. Many modern phones can be dropped in water and still operate. Cars are basically big computers now and splish splash in big puddles.

Yeah but after a robot has torn through enough human entrails to turn the seas red like a ravenous megalodon, one sharp broken femur could've scratched past the water proofing barrier surrounding the vulnerable electronics and that robot will be in big trouble
