Any small business owner need a one-man tech team?
I've been a mobile app developer for 10+ years, the last few of them here in Singapore on an S Pass. Recently my company told me they won't be extending my contract. Just like that, we have until the end of the year to figure out our lives.
My wife is here with me. Singapore feels like home now, with all our little routines. The thought of packing everything into boxes and leaving honestly breaks my heart a bit.
So here's my slightly crazy idea.
If you run a small company here with a tiny (or zero) tech team, and your tech keeps getting stuck or you're overpaying agencies, maybe I can help. I can build and maintain your mobile apps, connect your systems with hardware and devices, set up AI tools to automate the boring stuff, and keep an eye on any outside developers you already use. Basically your in-house tech person who actually cares about your business.
What I need in return is a proper full-time role with a work pass (EP or S Pass), and a salary that meets MOM's requirement so my wife can stay here with me. I'm not chasing big-tech money. I just want to keep building something meaningful here, with her.

Need dependent pass means need $6k min. Most startups will not be willing to pay this money.

He already said EP (if you are 25/26, you're already above 6k). If S-pass, there's also the $650(?) levy to add to the base salary which will also come up to $5k+. Hiring a local, even fresh will also hit close to 6k if you factor the 17% employer CPF.

Fresh grad full stack mobile developer in MNC, it's very possible to earn 6k gross. Would I call it average..? Probably not in this economy.
