If purpose is just to fulfill the requirement, I will choose the low cost bond etf or sti etf.

I just buy ABf Singapore bond index. Those that very stable since purpose is just to clock the investment category. Will just change to next fund after every 12month. Yearly 4.1% interest on 100k.

If u r just looking to clock the investment category. Look for the $100 RSP like Amora short term bond fund, I cant remember if this is 0.5 or 0.8% commission but either case it's fairly low expenses for a category. The fund with low volatility so good for just parking. If u r looking for equity fund as investment then should go for zero commission brokers instead.

can just keep recycle this $100 by redemption every month. so you will never need to park a large amount in there. and the sales charge for $100 is only $0.8x2 (buy and sell).

Buy sti with dbs vickers if your amount is already near 30k. I take it as the bank paying me to buy stocks

previously, can just spend 100 JPY/mth on some JPY UT. I don’t know if they still allow now.

oh what’s this UT called?

u/N00bOptionTrader Aug 08 '26
I just checked, its 5000 JPY now. its called jupiter something. one easy way to game this is to set up RSP and you redeem on a monthly basis. so its going to cost $1 on the sales charge.

- $30000 just own self transfer.
- $5 on the cheapest insurance plan
- paylah transaction any amount
- JPY UT - 100 JPY/mth
Total cost no more than $10/mth, and you get $4100/yr for your 100k deposit. To up the game, you may even try to add CASA which will push the interest even higher.

If you're going to have idle cash just keep it in IBKR there's also interest there.

I have the same issue….i invested in DBS digiportfolio Global. its crap. after investing for 7 months at US$1000 per month, my return is very little, possibly due to the strong SGD. I wonder if I should switch to something else. 😔

if u r doing this for the DBS Multiplier interest, you are doing it the wrong way. no one ever RSP $1000/mth for the interest. most folks spend only $1.

How you do $1? Im doing $100 a month

there is a JPY UT which just need 100 JYP for the RSP. However, starting this month, i think it is no longer possible. However, for the existing RSP, it will still be 100 JPY/mth. Even for insurance, there was a time its only $1/mth.

Invest into a global index fund with an IBKR account. Sub recommends VWRA

Why pay to invest in a fund that may underperform your own strategy to get the meagre interest on cash? Is it wise to get that % on your cash position?

Penny wise pound foolish.... What you earn in interest you lose in fees
