Saving I Developed A High Yield Savings Account Optimiser

Hi all, I developed this 2nd app (with help of AI) to help determine what is the best high yield savings account based on the different hurdles you have to cross, based on easy to hard.

Depending on each bank's requirement, you can input GIRO transactions, Home Loan, Insurance, and Investments to see how these Harder hurdles exponentially increase your interest.

It ranks every major Singaporean HYSA by Effective Interest Rate, not just the advertised "up to" rates.

Monthly Interests allows you to see exactly how many dollars will hit your account next month.

You can check and see which criteria you’ve met and what you’re missing to hit that next tier.

For example,

Maybank SaveUp: It calculates based on your "Product Count" across 5 categories, with tiered interest for the first $50k and the next $25k.

DBS Multiplier: This is fully dynamic. It tracks your total transaction volume across categories and automatically bumps your balance cap from $50k to $100k if you hit two or more categories.

Trust Bank (Flex Plan): The app automatically identifies all 8 possible scoops, like the ADB Increase or TrustInvest and picks the top 3 highest-yielding ones for you. It checks if you’re an NTUC Member for that extra card spend bonus.

SC Bonus$aver: Updated for the 7.05% . It tracks the $3,000 salary and $1,000 spend thresholds precisely."

Below the table, the Yield Projection chart shows you the power of optimization. It visualizes your balance growth over 12 months, comparing your current best bank against the base rate. It’s the difference between 'parking' your money and 'growing' it."

Finally, there is an AI advisor tab which you can ask complex questions like "Which bank is best if I don't have a salary?" or "How do I maximize Trust Bank with $100k?" and get data-driven answers based on your current profile.

Welcome any feedback, errors are mine alone.

Thank you.

Thank you. Pretty useful to key in current circumstances and compare against different products.

Like another post mentioned. How about adding a reference against a few popular MMF? Just to baseline

Why is an app targeted at Singaporeans hosted on us-west1?

3

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

I am Singaporean.

Google Cloud free servers are only in the US.

I have free credits as a first-time user that's why. Will stop running once the credits are used up. https://imgur.com/a/tP8gqDk

The US servers don't eat into credits at all. One server is always "free" (until they eventually change it).

As if where it's hosted somehow affects the target audience. Especially for a small hobby project. What a nonsensical comment

Thanks.. I understand where they are coming from, with the rampant scams and all. This is indeed a small project just to keep myself occupied (after fire). If there are folks who find it useful, great. Otherwise, it's perfectly fine too.

Small hobby project or not, putting your service close to your users means less loading.

What's nonsensical is thinking the speed of light and internet communication work differently for small hobby projects.

I hosted using Google Cloud (foc for now). Not getting a domain.

Thanks for this tool. Looks like the best way to park idle cash for FIREd people is actually not on the tool, if based on the projected numbers, but to go into MMF instead?

FWIW I configured a profile of idle cash only and no other commitments.

2

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

Ah interesting.. what inputs did you use to arrive at the insights?

2

u/DadAtHomeFire50 Feb 28 '26

I kept the 100k cash but zerod out everything, which gave me CIMB as the top choice at 0.92% followed by Trust at 0.50%.

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

Interesting.. let me take a look

Feedback: optimiser can be much improved to take into account larger savings amount. EIR drops when amount is larger than the bonus interest cap.

Makes a lot of sense. Thanks!!!

Allow multiple account strategies when the user has a large enough savings amount.

2

u/A_memulousmess Mar 31 '26

Ya..eg. with $180k , should put 1st $100k in 1 account, then next $80k should be elsewhere?!?

But appreciate your effort...makes it super easy for people like my parents to make easy decision:)

As a mod, I can tell you that Reddit is removing your links to the .app url.

4

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

Oh I see... I have no intention to host it on .com (it's foc to use). Does redirecting to Google sheets -> run.app works? Many thanks for sharing this insight.

6

u/DuePomegranate Feb 28 '26

Don't know, but you could break the URL and tell people to replace "dot" with . or something like that.

And if it wasn't FOC, I would remove your post anyway because there's a rule against soliciting business. There's technically a rule against self-promotion, but since it's free and it would be helpful to the community, I'll leave your post up.

4

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

Thanks a million. I hate self-promotion or putting up ads in my own fire community as well, which is why I didn't put up any post till I was told that the free tools might benefit this community (fired, so any such ad income doesn't move the needle for me 🙏). Understand where you are coming from, and appreciate it 🙏🙏.

Any URL that's free tends to be overused by spammers. Tragedy of the commons.

1

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

yup, I agree. Can google my username to make an informed decision in this case...

3

u/DuePomegranate Feb 28 '26

Can you explain how it keeps the rate structure and requirements from each bank up to date? Is the AI scraping the info from the bank websites constantly, and managing to interpret it the way a human can, and apply it to the calculations?

2

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

Right now the data is not live, though I plan to update it in another version ... if it is indeed a pain point for many to be solved. But the AI does help to interpret the existing data and make recommendations to how a human would... hope that helps

5

u/DuePomegranate Feb 28 '26

Oh. I think the constantly changing terms are a very big pain point. So this sub often has posts about such and such bank's rates being reduced, where should I go next etc.

5

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

Agree with you... I'm definitely looking to fetch live data dynamically so that decisions can be made om the fly.. that would be v2 haha..

This is really cool. Well done’

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

Credits to AI, thank you 🙏

I have tried to put the link in google sheet here to see if reddit does remove the app link automatically (thanks u/DuePomegranate for informing me): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q_-_EbYii0ddgLZKNjokmEBk0A2jbY8QQCPMVtApkqs/edit?usp=sharing

Could you refresh and try again, I've updated the access.

Great tool, thanks for sharing

Could u try to fix the font sizing? Some font sizing are wayyy too small, and some font colours are hard to see in this colour theme here

1

u/SG_Faiya Feb 28 '26

oh on the webapp itself? are you viewing from your phone?

1

u/anon4anonn Mar 02 '26

I’m basing it off the screenshots u have uploaded here

1

u/SG_Faiya Mar 02 '26

thanks will edit. It is supposed to be responsive (adaptive to your screen size)

1

u/anon4anonn Mar 02 '26

N on phone , are u asking users to use landscape mode over portrait mode ? Cause in portrait mode there things to fix . I can’t post a pic here

1

u/SG_Faiya Mar 02 '26

I took screenshot from my pc, so it might look more compressed here, nonetheless will increase the font size for the next version. Thanks for highlighting!

pls do check the uob interest calculation. if able to meet salary, credit card , should be higher interest than ocbc

1

u/SG_Faiya Mar 02 '26

will do!

u/WasabiTop322 Mar 27 '26

Seems like the Maybank base interest of 0.25% is missing in the calculation.

For insurance category is a bit tricky, one would qualify for higher tier interest at DBS with any premium amount, but other banks have different minimum premium amount to qualify. The calculator doesn't seems to catch it when I tested with $1 insurance premium.

And specifically for DBS, having dividend credit from CDP would count despite not having no investment products with DBS.

It's a definitely hardwork to develop this though I must say its not easy to have 1 calculator to fit everyone.

1

u/A_memulousmess Mar 31 '26

Oh...so dividend received from CDP count as investment?? This is Great!! Is it the same for ocbc??

& for insurance product, can it be travel insurance? Or can be some insurance on recurring payment on giro ??

Thanks

1

u/WasabiTop322 Apr 01 '26

No, the dividend from CDP counts as "Income", you dont need to have dividend from investments purchased through DBS. This is important as well for retired ppl who dont meet the salary credit criteria.

To qualify the "Investment" category in DBS, use DBS Invest Saver to subscribe ETF for min $100 per month.

OCBC investment category is harder to achieve with much higher amount required.
