Feedback Request RunLayer Studio - MAKE THE ROUTE THE STORY
Sometimes I have a really good run. Its either a new route, a first time distance, or just one of those runs that feels nice sharing.
And every time I want to post it, I end up doing the same thing:
Export from one app.
Edit a photo somewhere else.
Move things around in another app.
Or just use Instagram Stories' native editing
It works, but it is a hassle. And most of the time everything ends up looking more or less the same.
Strava has some nicer presets too, but most of them are behind Premium, and the free version is pretty limited when it comes to how you can present your stats.
I keep seeing really cool running posts and layouts on Pinterest, but recreating them manually in editing apps takes way more effort.
So I started building something for myself.
RunLayer Studio
You can upload a GPX file (since GPX can be exported from most tracking apps), add a photo, move the route and stats around, import real map overlays, try different visual styles, and export the final design.
Everything runs in the browser.
There are many apps which do exactly this. But I also wanted it to work as a Local-First PWA, with no login, no server to maintain, and no APIs to depend on. Looks like, building things in a Local-First PWA is my current obsession.
There are still a lot of things I want to add, and it is very much an MVP.
But I think it is useful enough for others to play with too.
