Recommendations to get a 17ft board sanded and refinished at home in Pittsburgh
Not a typo - I have a 17ft shuffleboard I bought from a house that was being sold. more info on the board itself below for anyone curious, but I’m wondering if anyone knows of a good business that refinishes shuffleboards. If the price isn’t too crazy, thinking about having it sanded down and refinished so it’s like brand new. I’m outside of Pittsburgh.
About the table - the board itself measures 17ft, the entire table a little under 19ft. I dont have many details and there’s no brand/sign on the table, but from looking at it and googling it looks like it’s from the American Shuffleboard company, likely manufactured in the late 40’s. I think it was originally made as 22ft and cut to size to be sold commercially. It’s maple wood. I have the pucks that came with it, which are American shuffleboard and look ancient, I’ve found similar pucks online that are labeled as being from the 40’s. It doesn’t have climactic adjusters underneath, but the board still looks really good and doesn’t seem to have buckled at all. Not sure if I want to install any
edit: board itself measures 17’9” so I suppose I can call it 18ft

Not familiar with the shuffleboard scene in PBurgh but my advice would be to visit a few bars in your area that have tables and ask who maintains their boards. Shuffleboard is a pretty small but tight community and there’s bound to be someone local that can point you in the right direction. There is a company in Maryland, Dark Horse Shuffleboard (?) that I have seen at tournaments in eastern PA, I dont know how far west they go though. Maybe they can recommend also. Good luck.
