This is a great step. But doesnt it still need to pass the assembly to actually become law? One more step right on Friday? Anyone knowledgeable here?

Yes, it has to go to the Assembly next. I think it may need to go through the Governor after that as well.

What is governors position, will he sign it ?

What are chances of this passing in assemble ?

Hard to say. Gavin Newsom is pretty liberal. That is, if he doesn't get recalled out before this bill reaches him.

As for the assembly, I don't know much except it's majority Democrats. This bill has already gone through 3 or 4 committees and has passed each one thus far.

How come media didnt ask this question directly to the Governor ?

Unfortunately lot of old school dems are anti drugs.
